Sergio Busquets leaves Barcelona transfer-free after eighteen seasons, the club announced through the official channels. The midfielder says it was not an easy decision to make. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Busquets is facing a transfer to Saudi Arabia. The Barcelona captain reportedly already has a contract offer from Al-Hilal.

Busquets said last Wednesday after winning the competition match with Osasuna (1-0) that he had already ‘more or less’ taken his decision about his future at Barcelona. The contract of the 34-year-old routine expires in more than two months, which means that he can look for another employer without transfer. ASH wrote on Tuesday that the midfielder has a million-dollar proposal from Saudi Arabia in his pocket and that he may be able to make the switch to Al-Hilal just like Lionel Messi.

Busquets made his debut for the Catalans in 2008 and has played 719 games for the club since then. Inter Miami and Al-Nassr already tried to tempt Busquets into leaving Barça earlier this year, although the controller constantly indicated that he would not make a decision about his future until the end of the season. If Barça wins against fellow townsman Espanyol on Sunday, it will be crowned champion of Spain for the 27th time.
