Brian Brobbey is not having the best season of his still short football career, but he does find his name in a nice row. In terms of average goals per minute, he is the seventh best striker ever in the Eredivisie, according to the NOS after. These are numbers that do Brobbey good. “I’m sleeping a lot better now.”

Brobbey has so far scored 23 times in competition and only needed 95 minutes per goal. This puts him in eighth place of all players who scored at least twenty times in the Eredivisie. Afonso Alves leads the list with a goal per 73 minutes and Marco van Basten, Mateja Kezman, Romário and Ronaldo are also players who are still above Brobbey. However, the striker of Ajax can provide a better average than Ove Kindvall and Coen Dillen, although the latter two scored more than a hundred times in competition.

Brobbey also scored against FC Groningen (2-3) and FC Utrecht (3-1) and with that he scored again in the Eredivisie for the first time since February. “I am relieved and happy with that,” the 21-year-old striker tells the NOS, who indicates that he sleeps badly when he does not score for a long time. “Scoring is important to me. Now I also sleep a lot better, haha. If you can keep playing, it will be easier.”

A goal from Brobbey on the final day of the competition could be good for Ajax. The team from Amsterdam can still finish second. “We just have to win and then we’ll see if it’s enough, because I don’t want to talk about that other match (AZ against PSV, ed.). We’re going to do everything we can to reach the Champions League. Far coming with Ajax in that tournament is just my dream, just like becoming champion with Ajax. This season I didn’t succeed and that is very annoying, for us and for the fans. “
