Ziggo Sport will be on the back of the Ajax shirt next season. Main sponsor Ziggo replaces the GigaNet logo with the logo of the largest sports channel in the Netherlands. Only Ziggo will remain on the front, so that the brand name will now be visible on both sides of the Amsterdam shirt. Ziggo Sport will appear under the shirt number during matches in the Eredivisie and TOTO KNVB Cup. The logo of GigaNet, a network of Vodafone and Ziggo, therefore disappears from the shirt.

Marcel Beerthuizen, director of Ziggo Sport, is happy with the change on Ajax’s shirt. “We continue to make it clear that Ziggo Sport is the free sports channel for all Ziggo customers. We have a great portfolio of sports rights, including many international sports competitions. From the 2024/25 season, Ziggo Sport also has exclusive rights to the three European club competitions: the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League.” During European matches, Ajax plays without a back sponsor because of UEFA regulations.

The European matches of Dutch clubs can be seen for free on Ziggo Sport from 2024, says Beerthuizen, who is happy with Ziggo’s deal with Ajax. “The Ajax shirt is a powerful tool to bring Ziggo Sport to the attention of all football fans.” Ziggo is the main sponsor of Ajax until at least 2025. The Amsterdammers annually receive nine million euros from the cable company, which is by far the most lucrative sponsorship deal in Dutch football. The number three in the Eredivisie can also earn two million euros in bonuses annually with the deal.
