Borussia Dortmund says goodbye to Marco Rose immediately, reports BVB through their own club channels. This is the result of a season evaluation in which Rosse participated with general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke, sporting director Michael Zorc, Sebastian Kehl and Matthias Sammer. Dortmun says in a statement that it will hold talks in the coming days about the composition of the staff of the first team.
“This day is not easy for all of us, because the mutual appreciation was, is and remains great,” says Watzke. “After a season that was unsatisfactory for several reasons, we had to realize that we didn’t maximize our potential in many areas.” Watzke, Zorc and Kehl thank Rose for his work and his ‘great effort’.
Rose has also commented on his departure on Dortmund’s official club website. “Despite a difficult season with many uncertainties, I was convinced of our approach. During our conversation I got the impression that the one hundred percent conviction of all those responsible was no longer there. In the end, we therefore decided together to end the collaboration,” said the 45-year-old trainer.
