There seems to be extra tension at AS Roma in the run-up to the Conference League final against Feyenoord next Wednesday. Some journalists were violently removed on Tuesday evening by some bodyguards of the Roman club. The selection of coach José Mourinho met on Tuesday in restaurant Pierluigi, in the center of Rome.

Roma players and staff, in preparation for the last league game of this season against Torino, were not shielded during the visit to the restaurant. They just sat on the terrace, while at that moment two journalists went to the second floor to take pictures from above. La Republica reports that Roma bodyguards quickly intervened.

The above-mentioned Italian newspaper also reports that the bodyguards demanded that the photos taken by the journalists be removed as soon as possible. There was a grim atmosphere at the restaurant, which even led to a scuffle. The local police arrived on the scene to calm the situation. A short video is circulating on Twitter showing one of the journalists being brutally beaten against the wall by one of the Roma bodyguards.
