Daley Blind has extended his contract with Girona, the Spanish club announced. The defender and midfielder is now with the stunt team until mid-2026. Blind's old contract expired next summer.

Blind is experiencing one of the best years of his career in the twilight of his career. The Dutch international managed to secure Champions League football with Girona next season.

The Spanish sensation is assured of a place among the top clubs in LaLiga, which means direct qualification for the largest European club tournament. Blind wants to experience that adventure and therefore remains loyal to the club from the North-East of Spain.

Blind's previous contract continued for another year. With the early contract extension, Blind can continue for another two years with the current number three in LaLiga.

With his 35 games this season, Blind is a fundamental part of coach Michel Sánchez's team. The defender mainly stands in the center of the back. He was posted as a left back twice.

The fact that Michel is charmed by Blind is evident from the fact that there are only four players who have been used more often this season. Only Paulo Gazzaniga, Aleix Garcia, Miguel Gutierrez and Sávio played more often.

Blind moved from Bayern Munich to Girona on a free transfer last year. He was unable to get into the starting line-up for the German record champion. He is one of the absolute key figures at Girona.
