Justin Bijlow was not selected for the the Dutch squad, but assumes that he will travel to the World Cup in Qatar. For the cameras of both ESPN as the NOS he said that he had been informed of his absence by the goalkeeper coach of the Dutch. The Feyenoord goalkeeper did not want to say whether he has received guarantees of being selected for the World Cup. “I was a little bit surprised. As long as I’m there in two months.”

Bijlow admitted to having had contact with the staff of the Dutch eftal, but did not say whether any commitments had been made. When asked whether Bijlow has received an explanation and whether other keepers are now being tested, after which he rejoins in a next international match, Bijlow did not give a clear answer. “Yes, of course I have been in contact with the goalkeeper coach, but I will of course not say what we discussed here, that is something between us. But we did have contact, that is logical.”
For the cameras of the NOS Joep Schreuder asked him if the keeper thought he was in a lesser phase. “No I don’t think so. But what I think is important to me”, he said with a laugh. “But you also think that you are not in top shape?”, asked Schreuder. “Of course it can always be better and I also know what can be done better, I work hard for that and then it will come naturally.
