Newcastle United are working in the background to strengthen the selection. The recently acquired club appears to want to use the forthcoming capital injection to lure Chelsea striker Timo Werner and Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, reports BILD. The interest in Werner in particular can be called serious, as discussions with the German’s management have already been held in the background.

The arrival of Werner does not seem impossible. Since the striker came over from RB Leipzig last year, he has rarely been able to convince. His employer even got a replacement for his position with Romelu Lukaku. Werner has managed to find the net 7 times in 41 games, which is considered insufficient by the Chelsea leadership. Sule has an expiring contract with Bayern and can therefore be picked up for free. The physically strong mandekker must be convinced with a substantial salary increase, although leaked WhatsApp conversations in 2018 showed that he would be interested in a switch to England anyway.

Werner and Süle are ‘just’ two new big names that can be added to the list where the Magpies since its takeover by a Saudi Arabian investment fund. Philippe Coutinho and Aaron Ramsey, among others, would be in the picture to forge a champion team from the team that is currently nineteenth in the Premier League; rumors that Erling Braut Haaland would also be on the list, the German sports newspaper refers to the trash. Coach Steve Bruce is also said to be about to be fired and Antonio Conte is singing around as his successor.
