Real Madrid took the lead in La Liga on Wednesday with great force majeure. Karim Benzema was already working on an incredibly good season and again produced no less than two goals and two assists against Real Mallorco. This brings the Frenchman to eight goals and seven assists in the competition after six games. Meanwhile, Marco Asensio also scored a hat-trick and substitute Isco also scored: 6-1.

Benzema had already scored his goal in the third minute. The striker saw Josep Gayá take a ball badly and also slip away, after which he was gone and shot in: 1-0. Asensio saw a dangerous shot being parried by Manolo Reina, but managed to score moments later. A cross from Rodrygo ended up through the feet of the Mallorca goalkeeper to Asensio, who put his foot against the ball: 2-0.

Mallorca immediately scored the connecting goal from the kick-off. Kang-In Lee dribbled past several defenders at high speed and shot the ball in from the edge of the penalty area: 2-1. Real were not shaken by the goal and scored again within minutes. Benzema served the thorough Asensio, who broke through the defense and finished it cold-blooded: 3-1.

Chances continued to rain for Real, who saw a last-minute Asensio shot blocked by Martin Valjent, and Vinicius Junior’s dangerous effort by goalkeeper Reina. Shortly after the break, Benzema thought to tap in his second, but the Real striker was called back because he had pushed Joan Sastre. After a new assist from Benzema, Asensio put his hat-trick on the scoreboard, by finding the bottom corner from about eighteen meters: 4-1.

Real kept looking for the attack and were rewarded again after 78 minutes. After a deep ball from David Alaba, Benzema skilfully ran away behind the Mallorca defense and was lucky that his effort changed direction through two defenders in such a way that Reina had no chance: 5-1. It was Benzema’s 200th goal in the shirt of Real. The jubilee received a public change, which Asensio had already had, and saw substitute Isco tap in after a good action by Vinícius on the left wing: 6-1.
