Domenico Tedesco announced the 23-man selection for the upcoming international match on Thursday morning. The coach has also been rewarded with a contract extension by the Belgian Football Association.

The Red Devils have two practice matches planned at the end of March. On March 23, the southern neighbors first play against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, before practicing against England at Wembley three days later.

Domenico Tedesco trained for Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig in the past, before the German-Italian coach succeeded Roberto Martínez after his disappointing World Cup performance in Qatar. In the qualifying group for the European Championship, Belgium, led by Tedesco, remained undefeated. In the meantime, Tedesco won two friendlies with the Belgians against Germany (2-3) and Serbia (1-0).

The good performance did not go unnoticed by the KBVB and on Thursday the association announced through official channels that Tedesco will be at the helm until the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The national coach's contract continued until after the European Championships in Germany next summer.

Belgium's 23-man selection includes Johan Bakayoko. The PSV right winger now has nine games to his name for his country.

Tintin

It was a day of announcements in Belgium. In addition to the contract extension of the national coach and the players called up, the uniforms for the coming year were also highlighted. The Belgians' striking away shirt in particular is receiving a lot of attention on social media. At the European Championships in Germany, the southern neighbors will wear a light blue shirt with brown pants and white socks. It is a reference to the Belgian cartoon character Tintin.

Piet Vandendriessche, general manager of the Belgian Football Association, was delighted with the new away shirt for the men's and women's teams of the national team: “Tintin not only captured my heart and mind when I was growing up, but also those of many other generations. That's exactly what the Red Devils and the Red Flames try to reach. Hopefully Tintin will give them the inspiration to achieve great performances,” he said enthusiastically.
