Sadio Mane dealt a blow to teammate Leroy Sane on Tuesday after the match between Manchester City and Bayern Munich. That knows BILD to report. According to the German newspaper, Sané’s mouth was bleeding and the two attackers eventually had to be separated by teammates. Bayern has not yet responded to the incident.
During Bayern’s hopeless match, which lost 3-0, it was already visible that Mané and Sané were at odds. After the game, the argument escalated, after which Mané punched Sané in the dressing room. The Senegalese gave the blow, because he was not happy with the way he was spoken to during the game. The specific moment in the game that angered Mane happened in minute 83. Sane complained to Mane, because the latter went into the depths.
The German, however, wanted Mane to come up to the ball so he could pass it into his feet. Sané would have made this clear to him in an angry tone, after which the situation escalated after the match. Of the two, only Sané started in the starting line-up, while Mané came in at 1-0 in the 69th minute. It turned out not to be a lucky raid for Mané anyway. Barely a minute after his entrance, Dayot Upamecano lost the ball to Bernardo Silva’s 2-0, after which Erling Braut Haaland determined the final score five minutes later. Rodri scored the opening goal in the first half.
Bayern has a phase in the season to quickly forget. Since the arrival of trainer Thomas Tuchel became the record master in the DFB-Pokal at home by SC Freiburg (1-2), after which the downer on Tuesday evening followed. Due to the 3-0 defeat at City, reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League is very far away. Since Tuchel’s appointment, Bayern has regained the lead in the Bundesliga. However, with seven games to go, the lead over number two Borussia Dortmund is only two points.
