João Palhinha will not move to Bayern Munich after all, reports Italian transfer market expert Fabrizo Romano. The 28-year-old Portuguese already flew to Munich, passed the medical examination and completed all media obligations, but the record master the midfielder was unable to register before the German transfer deadline of 6 p.m.

Fulham did not want to lose Palhinha without being able to get a replacement. The Cottagers tried at the very last minute to pluck Scott McTominay from Manchester United, but that turned out to be in vain. Despite the imminent arrival of Sofyan Amrabat, trainer Erik ten Hag did not want to let the Scot go. To this end, the London club decided to keep Palhinha on board. In the Allianz Arena, Palhinha could have signed for five seasons.

The failed transfer of the Portuguese will not affect Ryan Gravenberch, who is leaving for Liverpool, Romano indicates. According to Romano, all parties involved still have the feeling that the Dutchman is ahead of next year the Reds will come true. The midfielder reportedly moves to England for an amount of more than forty million euros.

Palhinha is not the only player to miss Bayern on Deadline Day. The Germans would have liked to have welcomed another defender after the departure of Benjamin Pavard. Lutsharel Geertruida was one of the candidates, but the record champion was not concrete for him. The same was true for Armel Bella-Kotchap. However, the German club management tried to get Trevoh Chalobah. However, that transfer also failed.
