Bayern Munich have signed Michael Olise on a permanent basis. The Record Champion is reportedly paying 54 million euros plus a possible 6 million euros in bonuses to pry the winger from Crystal Palace. Olise has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Bayern until mid-2029.

The transfer of the 22-year-old Frenchman had been in the air for some time. At the end of June, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport that the deal has been completed and now Bayern confirms Olise's arrival through official channels.

“The talks with FC Bayern went very positively and I am very happy that I can now play for such a big club,” said a delighted Olise on the club website. “It is a nice challenge and that is exactly what I was looking for.”

“I want to prove myself at this level and do my bit to ensure that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”

Olise was on the verge of signing for Chelsea last summer. However, the winger changed his mind at the last minute and extended his contract with Palace for four seasons. Partly due to injuries, Olise did not always play last season.

However, it was enough for manager Vincent Kompany, who came across the Palace forward as manager of Burnley, to bring him to Bayern.

Sporting director Christoph Freund is delighted with the arrival of the 22-year-old left-footer. “Michael is fast, tricky, a threat in front of goal and very versatile in attack. His goal and assist statistics are already excellent.”

“Michael is already very developed at 22 years old, but he is also hungry and still has a lot of potential. Fans come to the stadium to see players like Michael Olise.”

Max Eberl, General Manager of Sports, also has his say. “Michael Olise is a player who can make a difference and who attracted a lot of attention with his style of play. We want a new impetus in our team, new energy, new ideas – that is what players like Michael Olise stand for.”

“During the talks he quickly indicated that he really wanted to come to Bayern. We are very much looking forward to him. He will enrich our game.”

Olise has played 90 games for Palace, scoring 16 goals and providing 25 assists. Olise has yet to make his debut for the French first team. Olise, who was born in London and could therefore also play for England, has represented several youth teams in the the blues.
