Bayern Munich suffered another painful defeat in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon. Der Rekordmeister came to visit FC Heidenheim with a 0-2 lead, but completely gave it away in the second half: 3-2. The gap between coach Thomas Tuchel's team and leader Bayer Leverkusen, which can no longer avoid the title, is now sixteen points. Heidenheim is now in tenth place.

Bayern still had to make do without the injured Manuel Neuer, so Sven Ulreich started under the bar. Noussair Mazraoui was completely missing from the selection, while Matthijs de Ligt started on the bench.

Bayern dominated the game in the early stages. The visitors had most of the ball, but there were no real big chances for a long time. The first serious opportunity only presented itself in the 38th minute, but it immediately resulted in a goal.

Serge Gnabry found Harry Kane through the air, who was ready in front of the goal to tap the ball into the long corner: 0-1. For a moment it appeared to be offside, but after viewing the images the referee decided to award the goal.

Just before half-time, Bayern doubled the score through Gnabry, who headed in a perfect cross from Alphonso Davies: 0-2. So there seemed to be no problem der Rekordmeister.

However, at the start of the second half, things went completely wrong for Bayern in the space of two minutes. In the fiftieth minute, Kevin Sessa was sent deep, and he finished flawlessly on behalf of Heidenheim: 1-2. Just over a minute later it became 2-2: Tim Kleindienst slid in a perfect cross from Jan-Niklas Beste.

So Bayern had to start again. It had chances to score 2-3, but Heidenheim was also able to take the lead. The latter finally happened in the 79th minute. After an excellent attack from the right, Kleindienst completed: 3-2. The comeback was complete, and Heidenheim was able to add three points.
