Club Brugge booked a simple victory in the Jupiler Pro League on Monday evening. In the catch-up game with the Flemish rival AA Gent, the team of trainer Philippe Clement was too strong with 0-4. Bas Dost returned to the base after his hamstring injury, and he played a star role with two hits. Furthermore, Noa Lang, Tahith Chong and Ruud Vormer, who provided the assist with the last goal, also started in the base; Stefano Denswil had a raid. At Ghent, Tarik Tissoudali, also in possession of a Dutch passport, entered the field in the second half.
Although Club Brugge had little to cope with in the first act, they knew Blue-black thanks in particular to excellent goalkeeping work by Simon Mignolet to drag a 0-0 half-time score out of the fire. The match image turned 180 degrees after the break, because after Dost’s opening goal, the gate was gone. Charles De Ketelaere, who had come on for Chong, served Dost with a tailor-made cross, after which the striker accepted the ball beautifully and outwitted goalkeeper Sinan Bolat with a perfect lob: 0-1.
Lang had a role to play in Club’s second goal. The creative midfielder delivered after a great action at De Ketelaere, who in turn gave Hans Vanaken the opportunity to finish in the short corner: 0-2. Dost’s second goal followed halfway through the second half, when he worked the 0-3 against the ropes from the rebound after Bolat first saved a header. The final chord was played by Daniel Pérez, who replaced Dost twenty minutes before the end and put the 0-4 final score on the scoreboard on the instructions of Vormer. Thanks to the victory, Club increases the gap with number two Royal Antwerp to nineteen points.
