Internazionale has qualified for the final of the Coppa Italia. After the 1-1 draw in the first leg in Nerazzurri in their own stadium this time to deal with Juventus: 1-0. The winning goal came off the foot of Federico Dimarco, who was given an unmissable chance by a sublime through ball from Nicolò Barella. Neither team played great, although Juventus was especially disappointing. The team of coach Massimiliano Allegri hardly came up with any opportunities. Inter will face Cremonese or Fiorentina in the final. There is a good chance that Fiorentina can report in the final battle after the 0-2 victory in the first leg.

On the Inter side, Denzel Dumfries started in his familiar position on the right side of midfield. Stefan de Vrij had to make do with a place on the bench, just like Marcelo Brozovic, Robin Gosens and Romelu Lukaku, among others. Cup goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was sent off after the last whistle in the first leg, so that André Onana kept his place under the crossbar. Juan Cuadrado also received a red card after the first game in Turin, so that his place on the right in midfield was taken by Mattia De Sciglio on Wednesday. In the front, trainer Massimiliano Allegri did not have access to the injured Moise Kean and Dusan Vlahovic, so that Federico Chiesa was at the point of the attack. Ángel Di María had to provide the creativity in 10 position.

After only two minutes of play, Inter seemed to take the lead. A fine cross from Barella seemed to be a prey for Lautaro Martínez, who, however, fell just short. Edin Dzeko then got the ball, but didn’t seem to expect the chance anymore. Inter continued to dominate and after fifteen minutes he was paid for his work. Barella had a sublime through ball on Dimarco, which left Perin without a chance from close range: 1-0. Five minutes later, Perin was transfixed when Martínez shot wide from the edge of the box. Juventus’ first real danger came after more than half an hour of play. Kostic tested Onana’s reflexes, who passed his test. The pace fell back enormously in the remainder of the first half, so that there were no more opportunities and the break was reached with the 1-0 score.

Juventus started the second half a little more convincingly, although it came no further than a long shot from Manuel Locatelli. On the other hand, Dzeko showed his class by finishing off the inside post after a nice cutting movement, but the Bosnian turned out to have been offside. Juventus remained offensively impotent, while Inter became dangerously dangerous at times. For example, a cross from Dumfries to the second post turned out to be just too hard to be walked in and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who accidentally got the ball in front of his feet from a free kick, bumped into Mattia Perin. Juventus remained extremely impotent in the final phase and could no longer force the equalizer.
