Barcelona is willing to send Alejandro Baldé to Ajax on a rental basis, if Nicolás Tagliafico goes the opposite way, reports Mundo Deportivo. The Amsterdammers would not have brushed off the offer in advance and are thinking about the option. The eighteen-year-old Baldé is superfluous at Barcelona.

On Sunday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano announced that Barcelona has officially reported to Ajax for Tagliafico. The Catalans want to hire the 29-year-old left back with an option to buy, but the team from Amsterdam prefers to keep Tagliafico despite his reserve role. The Argentine plays an important role in the breadth of the selection. So, to mitigate that problem somewhat, Barça are reportedly prepared to send Baldé to the Netherlands. It is unclear whether Ajax could also include an option to buy.

Baldé has been playing for Barcelona since he was seven and for many years was regarded internally as one of the top talents from the academy. Baldé should eventually take over the left back position from Jordi Alba, but has not yet been able to live up to it in the main squad of Barcelona. The wing defender made his debut this season, but is only used in exceptional cases. He is on six official duels.

The Telegraph knew earlier that Tagliafico is angry about the fact that Ajax does not grant him an interim transfer. The chance to play for a club like Barcelona does not come along very often, according to the fullback. Tagliafico also emphasizes that Ajax would have promised him last summer to think along if a serious offer comes in at the Johan Crujff ArenA. The big problem for now is that Barcelona only thinks about renting, an option that is unmentionable for Ajax. Only a definitive deal is negotiable, because then Ten Hag can attract a replacement in the last week of the transfer window. The option to take over Baldé may change that.
