AZ is in talks with Miguel Araujo, he assures GolPeru. According to media from his native country, the defender of FC Emmen is in the express interest of the Alkmaarders, who would even have spoken to the man. Araujo still has a contract with Emmen until mid-2022, which took him over from Allianza Lima in the summer of 2019.

At AZ, Araujo has to provide new defensive impulses, where Jonas Svensson, Bruno Martins Indi and Ramon Leeuwin will be out of their contract next summer. Araujo is considered to be the stronghold this season in the defense of Emmen, where he forms the heart of the defense together with Nick Bakker. The Peruvian scored 4 goals in 22 games. Last season, in his first year in Drenthe service, the counter stopped at twelve games.

Peru-born Araujo crossed the country’s borders for the first time in 2013 for an adventure at Red Star Belgrade. A year later, he returned to Peru with Allianza Lima, and subsequently let himself be rented to Talleres in the 2018/19 season. Araujo then left Allianza Lima behind with an expiring contract and made the transfer-free transfer to Emmen, where he extended his expiring contract for a year last year. The seventeen-time international returned to the national team of Peru in October, for which he already made his debut in 2014.
