Atlético Madrid will welcome two new reinforcements this week, report marca and L’Equipe. According to the French sports newspaper, 28-year-old left back Reinildo Mandava will come over from Lille OSC on a free transfer after the season, while marca know that los Colchoneros are also in talks with Valencia to discuss the arrival of Daniel Wass. The 32-year-old Dane is seen for the short term as a replacement for Kieran Trippier, who made the switch to Newcastle United earlier this month for an amount of fourteen million euros excluding bonuses.

Wass has an expiring contract at Valencia, while Reinildo also runs out of his contract at Lille after this season. Atlético may negotiate a transfer-free transfer with both players in the summer, but the club would prefer to strengthen the selection this month. L’Equipe reports that Reinildo is currently in Madrid for a medical. Atlético actually want to take over the Brazilian left-back immediately, but the French are said to have rejected the latest offer as they want to keep Reinildo until the end of the season.

Wass, on the other hand, must make the switch to Atlético in January. He is seen at the current number four in LaLiga as the successor to fullback Trippier. According to marca Both the Dane and Reinildo see a transfer to Atlético as a step up and have also given trainer Diego Simeone and sporting director Andrea Berta the green light for the arrival of the duo. After the relatively cheap arrival of Wass and Reinildo in the summer, Atlético are looking for two top-quality full-backs, the newspaper adds.

Atletico have not performed well this season. In LaLiga, the gap with leaders Real Madrid and number two Sevilla is already fourteen and ten points, while the team of trainer Simeone was recently eliminated in the semi-finals of the Spanish Supercopa and eighth finals of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Club respectively ( 2-0) and Real Sociedad (1-2).
