Julian Pollersbeck played just one season with Memphis Depay at Olympique Lyon. Nevertheless, in that one season, the German goalkeeper was very impressed in several areas by the attacker who left for Barcelona. Pollersbeck even dares to say that no other player in Lyon’s selection has impressed him as much as Depay last season.
Pollersbeck explains in an interview with Transfermarkt.de explains why he started to think that way about Depay. “That is on the one hand because he is a brutal player,” the closing post in French service opens. “And on the other hand because of his personality. He impressed me as a footballer and as a person. Memphis is about the same age (both players are 27 years old, ed.), but nevertheless already very mature. You can clearly notice that that he has experienced everything necessary in his life,” said the reserve goalkeeper of les Gones.
“Memphis was a good one captain and also a pleasant and open person who immediately cared about the new players,” Pollersbeck compliments the the Dutch international. “On my very first day at Lyon, he immediately asked a lot of questions and Memphis also offered his help On. I actually did not expect that, because he was the biggest star in the team.” Pollersbeck has not yet spoken to Depay and congratulated him on his move from Lyon to Barcelona.
“However, after the last game of the season, we spoke extensively. In that conversation I gave Memphis some words of advice. The mutual relationship is still good, as has been the case all year.
