Odsonne Édouard faces a switch to the Premier League, it reports The Telegraph. The Celtic club top scorer is in the serious interest of Arsenal and Leicester City, who hope to take advantage of the relatively low asking price for the striker. Édouard can reportedly leave Scotland for 17 to 23 million euros.

Initially, Celtic thought of a much higher amount for the 23-year-old striker, who has 20 goals and 5 assists this season after 35 official games. Given Édouard’s contract expiring next year, however, Celtic is choosing eggs for its money and the French youth international may leave next summer. Leicester City is according to The Telegraph favorite in the battle for the signature of Édouard, although ‘other major European clubs’ are also after him. The attacker went from Paris Saint-Germain to Celtic for ten million euros in 2018, after the Scots had already rented him for a year.

Arsenal intends to review the front line next summer. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are on their way to their final contract year and may be sold. The Gunners hope to raise a similar amount for 29-year-old Lacazette as needed for the arrival of Édouard, if it is decided not to renew the former’s commitment. Lacazette has been in better shape in recent weeks and was still important for Arsenal on Sunday with two goals against Sheffield United (0-3 win).

Arsenal’s purchasing power next summer will depend on the performance of the first team in the last month of the season. The Londoners must win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League. Arsenal played a draw in-house against Slavia Prague (1-1) in the first leg of the quarterfinals last Thursday.
