If Feyenoord wins a prize, there will be a padel court at the training complex. Arne Slot reveals this in conversation with the General Journal. The trainer of the team from Rotterdam is a big fan of padel and would therefore like to see a field built. Slot has already dropped that at the club management. “But apparently my influence doesn’t reach that far yet, because it’s not there yet,” says the Bergentheimer jokingly.

The striking reward for a possible prize this season comes up when Slot is asked about his imperative within Feyenoord. The 44-year-old elector sees that ‘not at all’ in himself. “I will never say anything about how the grass is mowed. But I am very forceful in my way of playing. That is my world and I am demanding in it. I now also have such a box with which I can operate the sprinkler system myself. But then you come to my workouts, right? But filling in the nutrition or something, never involved,” says Slot.

However, the former midfielder is curious how other people within the club view his regime. “I think almost every staff member here at Feyenoord will say: we have never had such an easy trainer. I would almost say: ask.” Then Slot reveals his ‘big’ wish: “I really want a padel job here at training complex 1908. But apparently my influence doesn’t reach that far yet, because it’s not there yet. If we win something with Feyenoord, I hear. Well , who knows.”

Slot and Feyenoord are still competing for a prize on three fronts. The team from Rotterdam overwintered in the Europa League, still plays in the TOTO KNVB Cup and is currently the leader in the Eredivisie. However, they lost Quinten Timber and Gernot Trauner for a long time in recent weeks, without whom it will be more difficult to fulfill the prize aspirations. That is why Feyenoord wants to enter the transfer market this winter. The leader will resume the competition on Sunday with a game at FC Utrecht.
