Arne Slot has announced the line-up of Feyenoord for the away game against sc Heerenveen on Wednesday evening. There are two changes with the visitors from Rotterdam compared to the lost Classic against Ajax (0-2) on Sunday. Reiss Nelson replaces the injured Luis Sinisterra on the left of the forward guard, while Alireza Jahanbakhsh replaces Jens Toornstra on the right. The kick-off in the Abe Lenstra Stadium is at 6.45 pm.

It was already known that Gernot Trauner would not be fit in time for the game in Friesland. Just like against Ajax, Lutsharel Geertruida starts in the heart of the defence. In addition to Geertruida, Marcos Senesi, Marcus Holmgren Pedersen and Tyrell Malacia make their appearance in the Feyenoord defense, followed by Justin Bijlow.

There are again basic places in midfield for Orkun Kökçü, Fredrik Aursnes and Guus Til. Bryan Linssen is the attack leader at Feyenoord, with Jahanbakhsh covering the right flank. Nelson replaced Sinisterra in the halftime encounter with Ajax and almost scored with his first contact with the ball. Three days later, Slot has a basic spot in store for him.

Feyenoord wants to close 2021 in a good way in Heerenveen. The last two matches against FC Twente (2-1) and Ajax (0-2) were lost. In addition, they did not get further than a 1-1 draw at FC Groningen. Heerenveen was too strong for rival SC Cambuur in a loaded Frisian derby on Sunday: 1-2.
