Arnaut Danjuma continues his career at Villarreal, Fabrizio Romano reports. The 24-year-old wing striker comes from Bournemouth for an amount of 23.5 million euros and signs a contract for five seasons. Danjuma will fly to Spain on Wednesday to undergo a medical examination and complete his transfer.

With the transfer, the two-time the Dutch-international is rewarded for a more than excellent season. At Bournemouth, Danjuma was good for no less than 17 goals and 8 assists in 37 official games last season. The attacker can look forward to playing in the Champions League: Villarreal qualified for the billion-dollar ball by winning the Europa League.

His good performances did not go unnoticed, as Aston Villa and Olympique Lyon were also mentioned as interested clubs this summer. Danjuma now opts for a step up to Villarreal, the number seven of last season in LaLiga. The left winger went through the PSV youth academy, but was unable to break through. Two years ago he ended up at Bournemouth for 16.4 million euros via NEC and Club Brugge. In 2018 he played twice for the Dutch national team under Ronald Koeman.

Rik Elfrink from the Eindhovens Dagblad adds that Danjuma’s two previous Dutch clubs will also benefit from the transfer. For example, PSV receives 660,000 euros in training compensation and 700,000 euros from the transfer fee. NEC will receive compensation totaling 235,000 euros.
