West Ham United beat Leicester City at home on Monday evening. David Moyes’ men were already stronger in the first half and finished it off after a red card for Leicester striker Ayoze Pérez: 4-1. Star Mikhail Antonio became West Ham’s all-time club top scorer in the Premier League (49 goals) with two goals. His last goal was particularly impressive.

West Ham had the initiative, while Leicester struggled to create anything from the counterattack. The opening goal of the match was prepared after 26 minutes by Said Benrahma, who brought the ball low from the left. In the penalty area, Pablo Fornals cleverly put the inside of his shoe against the ball: 1-0. Tomás Soucek failed to make it 2-0 moments later with the head. Leicester was further troubled by Ayoze Pérez, who stood hard on the lower leg at Fornals in a duel and was shown a red card.

After the break, West Ham went looking for his second goal and it was found in the 56th minute. Antonio remained calm face to face with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and returned to Benrahma, who pushed the ball into the empty goal: 2-0. In the end, Leicester did something back via Youri Tielemans, who first shot hard at a defender and then slid in the rebound: 2-1. Leicester didn’t come any closer than that, however, as Antonio made it 3-1 by playing with his back to goal and scoring cleverly out of the turn. Shortly after, Antonio took it one step further. This time the striker took a low pass brilliantly by lifting the ball over his opponent and then sliding in: 4-1.
