Amin Younes is well on his way to the exit at Eintracht Frankfurt. The wing attacker has already reached an agreement with technical director Markus Krösche and trainer Oliver Glasner about an early departure from the German club. In the coming days, Frankfurt’s technical leadership will work on an ‘appropriate solution’ for the problematic situation, it sounds from Germany.

At Frankfurt they seem to be completely done with Younes. The winger hired from Napoli failed to attend training sessions of Glasner’s selection a few times. He reportedly demanded an excessive salary during the negotiations, causing Frankfurt to drop the option to buy BILD There is also great dissatisfaction with various teammates about the outbursts of anger of the now 28-year-old Younes. During the summer transfer window, no satisfactory solution was found by all parties involved, even if Frankfurt briefly hoped that Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab would take over the winger.

Younes therefore remained in Frankfurt after August 31, where his lease continues until the end of the season. Yet there seems to be no future for the former Ajax player at the current number fourteen in the Bundesliga. He did not play in the first three games in the German league and Younes has not been signed up by Frankfurt for the Europa League group stage. Behind the scenes, all parties are working hard to find a solution to the long-standing problem. In the meantime, Younes will no longer complete training and competitions for the Germans.

The current situation is in stark contrast to that of last season. Younes made 28 appearances (4 goals and 3 assists) in all competitions in the Frankfurt shirt in the 2020/21 season. In February, the attacker scored in a fabulous way against Bayern Munich (2-1 victory), which earned him compliments and an invitation from then national coach Joachim Löw. However, under his successor Hansi Flick, Younes is no longer in the picture with the German national team.
