Feyenoord hopes to book the first win of the European season on Thursday evening with a visit to FC Midtjylland. A win is therefore urgently needed in Group F. All clubs are currently on three points, but the team from Rotterdam has the best goal difference. Is Arne Slot’s team still in the lead after the third round? In collaboration with Unibet, Voetbalzone looks ahead to Feyenoord’s European evening.

Where Feyenoord painfully lost 4-2 in Rome against Lazio during the first round, recovered The Stadium Club himself a week later in his own Kuip. Sturm Graz was resolutely played off the mat with no less than 6-0. Alireza Jahanbakhsh was the big man of the evening with two goals, while Dávid Hancko scored his first goal as a Feyenoord player.

Midtjylland also managed to recover well in the second round. Where the Danes had to bow in Graz due to a goal by Dutchman Emanuel Emegha, Lazio was humiliated 5-1 in Herning. Remarkably, there were five different names on the score sheet for Midtjylland: Paulinho, Sory Kaba, Evander, Gustav Isaksen and Erik Sviatchenko. In particular, the Brazilian Evander is known as one of the star players.

The accompanying Feyenoord fans will hope that strikers Danilo and Santiago Giménez have it on their hips in the MCH Arena. The Mexican is currently the Europa League top scorer with three goals, while Danilo also scored against Graz. At Midtjylland, top purchase Anders Dreyer is still waiting for his first European goal. In the 2019/20 season, the winger played on a rental basis for sc Heerenveen.
