Alexis Sánchez saves Internazionale in injury time from expensive defeat

Internazionale has a point left over from the away game with Torino in the Serie A on Sunday evening, deep in injury time. Due to an early goal by Gleison Bremer, the visitors seemed to be running into an expensive defeat, but in the 93rd minute Alexis Sánchez still managed to get a point out of the fire for the team of coach Simone Inzaghi. Inter was allowed to thank the referees before half-time that the team was no longer damaged after Belotti was knocked hard in the penalty area by Filippo Ranocchia. However, both referee Marco Guida and VAR Davide Massa did not see a penalty in the defender’s clear violation.

Inter increased the pressure early in the second half and went on the hunt for the equalizer. Substitute Federico Dimarco, on the other hand, failed to put his team back into the game. The central defender was put alone in front of Berisha by Dzeko, but the goalkeeper proved to grow in the game with another excellent save. The visitors deserved the equalizer based on the chances created. Dzeko in particular could be blamed for not having his sights sharp, because the striker headed a ball completely free standing next to the posts.

Torino lurked mainly on the counter in the second company and had several opportunities to decide the game. Josip Brekalo, for example, bypassed goalkeeper Handanovic and substitute Robin Gosens narrowly prevented the 2-0 with a sliding tackle, after which the closing post distinguished itself a few minutes later by tapping a header from Armando Izzo from the far corner. Inzaghi thought that Inter was left empty-handed after a missed huge opportunity from Dzeko. Substitute Sánchez, however, still gave his team a point in injury time by sliding in on a pass from the Bosnian striker: 1-1.
