Ajax is aiming for Dominik Livakovic’s signature, you know Sportske Novosti. The Croatian sports daily writes that the team from Amsterdam is competing with Manchester United, among others, to loosen the 27-year-old closing post at Dinamo Zagreb. The interest follows the excellent World Cup that Livakovic played on behalf of Croatia.

The 41-time international of the Vatreni showed himself to be an extremely reliable goalkeeper throughout the tournament in Qatar. Especially the matches against Japan (eighth final) and Brazil (quarter final) stood out, where Livakovic made numerous important saves to ensure that Croatia always won after penalties. Partly because of this, the country finished third, which did not go unnoticed abroad.

Numerous top clubs want to add the Croatian to their goalkeeper ensemble. Manchester United, which is looking for a successor to David de Gea, seems to be the most important candidate. Bayern Munich and Ajax also have Livakovic on the list, while Tuttomercato claims that Juventus is also in the running. The price tag of the World Cup star is especially interesting for the aforementioned clubs. Livakovic could be picked up in Zagreb for less than 25 million euros.

Livakovic is the third recent name to be added to the list of potential goalkeepers for Ajax. The Telegraph previously revealed that the team from Amsterdam would like to see Andries Noppert join the selection, who, like Livakovic, has had a great World Cup. BILD also mentioned interest from the capital for Alexander Nübel, who is rented by AS Monaco from Bayern Munich. However, the latter seems unfeasible, as he is nominated to replace the long-term injured Manuel Neuer at the record master.
