In this edition of VZ Social attention to Julian Rijkhoff, the nineteen-year-old debutant who reported on social media immediately after the match between Ajax and FK Bodø/Glimt (2-2).

Rijkhoff made his debut in Ajax's main squad on Thursday evening with a short substitute appearance. The Purmerend-born striker has been an Ajax player all his life and he makes this clear in his message on X. “One word, proud.”

Rijkhoff may be in action again on Friday evening, when Jong Ajax travels to TOP Oss. Last Monday, the right foot managed to score his first goals on behalf of the promising team. Against MVV Maastricht (3-0 win), Rijkhoff managed to find the net twice at Sportpark De Toekomst.

Opposite Ajax TV Rijkhoff spoke briefly about his debut. “It went quickly and I didn't expect it myself. Still with Jong on Monday, now with the selection, so I am happy that the trainer has given me the confidence.”

Rijkhoff is extremely happy with the recent developments in his life. “I need a while to let it sink in, but it will happen. After training I heard that I would be in the selection. It was a difficult match. Hopefully I was able to bring the energy that I have in me.”
