The Open Day of Ajax has been removed from the agenda due to the new developments in the corona crisis, the Amsterdam club announced on Tuesday morning. However, the Ajax leadership wants to offer the supporters an alternative in preparation for the new season. The Ajax Dream Days will now take place on 5 and 6 August instead of the Open Day, according to the statement of the board.

“During the Ajax dream days, children can experience an active tour through the Johan Cruijff ArenA. In this you go through the different phases of youth training along the field, until making your debut goal”, Ajax informed its supporters on Tuesday. In addition to these activities, a stream with ‘diverse entertainment’ will be offered in the Johan Cruijff prior to the practice match against Leeds United on 4 August. The meeting with the Premier League club will start at 8.15 pm that day.

In 2019 Ajax canceled the annual Open Day because of the tropical heat that plagued the Netherlands at the time. A year ago, the event was canceled due to the corona measures announced by the Dutch government. This year, more clubs have had to cancel the Open Day. Feyenoord, among others, reported earlier this month that the annual event could not take place due to the corona vicissitudes.
