Ajax has Zeki Amdouni in the picture as a possible reinforcement for the striker position, the Swiss medium reports Blick. The FC Basel striker made a big impression in the Conference League last season. With twelve hits, he became the top scorer of the tournament together with Fiorentina striker Arthur Cabral. Amdouni, who is also in the interest of Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt, has indicated that he would like to make a transfer.

Amdouni can be admired in the coming period at the European Under 21 Championships in Georgia and Romania. The 22-year-old attacker hopes to continue his form of last season. With 22 goals and 5 assists in all competitions, he was one of the bright spots at Basel, which finished fifth in the Super League. The club hired him from Lausanne-Sport, but in May Basel announced that it had managed to sign Amdouni until mid-2027. However, he himself is aiming for a transfer. On Monday, Amdouni was worth gold for the A-squad of Switzerland by scoring twice against Romania (2-2). After that match, he joined the Under 21.

Amdouni himself thinks it is time for an adventure outside Switzerland, he says Blick. “I’m ready for the next step in my career. I’ve done my best in the Super League, in the Conference League and with the national team.” Partly thanks to Amdouni’s impressive goal total, Basel reached the semi-finals of the Conference League. The Geneva-born Swiss with Turkish roots has now played five matches for the national team. He was good for no less than five hits.

Where Amdouni’s future lies will probably become clear soon. He wants to have clarity by the end of next week at the latest. “My advisor is traveling with me to Romania,” says Amdouni. “Together we will then look at all options.” According to Blick Ajax isn’t the only team interested. Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica are also showing serious interest. “They are both great football countries,” says Amdouni.
