Ajax has established itself in the lead next to Feyenoord on Sunday. The team from Amsterdam met a staggeringly weak sc Heerenveen in the Abe Lenstra Stadium, especially in the first half, which was eventually beaten 2-4. Mohammed Kudus broke the spell, after which Dusan Tadic, Steven Bergwijn and Kenneth Taylor finished the job. Pelle van Amersfoort and Sydney van Hooijdonk did something in return on behalf of Heerenveen. At 8 p.m., Ajax will watch with suspicion the Feyenoord game, which will compete against FC Volendam in De Kuip.

Ajax, which for tactical reasons started with Taylor and without Davy Klaassen, was lord and master from the first whistle. After ten minutes, that goal resulted in number one. Álvaréz started a rush towards the sixteen-meter area, which eventually ended up at Kudus via Tadic and Simon Olsson. The Ghanaian showed himself to be very cold-blooded and defeated goalkeeper Xavier Mous with a careful slider: 0-1.

Álvarez, who was posted in midfield again just like last week, doubled the margin himself less than five minutes later. Heerenveen couldn’t get the ball away after a nice attack from Amsterdam and the Mexican made it 0-2 with a low line. It was a beautiful one, but Bergwijn signed for the most beautiful of the first half. The wing striker, struggling with his form, combined effortlessly with Tadic through the center of Heerenveen and shot past Mous: 0-3. After the post got in the way of Bergwijn’s second, Kees van Wonderen decided enough was enough. Heerenveen’s trainer made three substitutions and that brought the Frisians back into the game.

Van Amersfoort took care of the tying goal just before half-time with a striking header, with which the tension seemed somewhat back in the game. Taylor soon put an end to that illusion by putting the 1-4 on the scoreboard with a dry bang in minute 52. After Heerenveen saw a line go through a penalty kick in the second instance, the game leveled off somewhat. The first real highlight came again after 73 minutes, when substitute Brian Brobbey headed the crossbar. Van Hooijdonk then made it 2-4, but Heerenveen did not get any further.
