Ajax is emphatically in the market for Anrie Chase, reports Sponichi. The Japanese sports newspaper writes that the intention is that the seventeen-year-old center defender will train in Amsterdam from February. Ajax is not the only candidate, however, because AZ, VfB Stuttgart and various clubs from the Japanese J-League are also interested in Chase.

Chase will turn eighteen on March 24 of the following calendar year, after which he can make an international transfer. The defender – son of a Japanese mother and an American father – does not yet play for a Japanese professional club, but plays for the Fukushima Shoshi High School. By the way, he has already grown into a youth international for Japan and there is now a lot of interest in Chase.

The center defender – labeled a ‘monster’ by former Japanese international Atsuto Uchida – already trained with AZ last summer. He made minutes at Jong AZ in the match for the so-called Future of Football Cup against the promises of RB Leipzig. According to Sponichi the plan is that Chase will also complete an internship in Amsterdam from February. However, VfB Stuttgart is also said to be ‘enthusiastic’ about Chase and hopes to tempt him to switch to Germany.
