Noa Lang has seen his good form in the service of Club Brugge rewarded with a place in the 28-man pre-selection of the Dutch national team. Valentijn Driessen thinks it is completely right that national coach Louis van Gaal gets the left winger from the Dutch. Lang has revived in Belgium, after he did not get a job at Ajax. According to Driessen, the latter was partly due to a disturbed relationship with Ajax captain Dusan Tadic.

Lang has made an excellent impression at Club Brugge in recent times. For example, the attacker made a beautiful goal against Ostend (3-0) last Saturday and he was also widely appreciated for his performance in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain (1-1). He was named Man of the Match and was then told on Friday that he may be allowed to report in Zeist early next month for the World Cup qualifiers against Latvia and Gibraltar.

“And rightly so,” Driessen calls Van Gaal’s decision to include Lang in the pre-selection. “That boy dared to say: Ajax, bye umbrella! I don’t feel like doing this anymore and go my own way. Dusan Tadic and me, that will never work. Not on the field, but also outside it, because Noa Lang is a man and dares to pull his mouth over,” says Driessen in a video on the website of The Telegraph.

According to Driessen, it was not at all between Lang and Tadic in Amsterdam, who can both work in the left wing position. “Not at all, not at all. Because Tadic is a Serb and is the leader of the team. Everyone must follow him, his will is law. But that’s not how it works with Noa Lang. He just went right into it. It was either Tadic or Noa Lang. Then Ajax naturally chose Tadic. But Lang had seen: there is no future for me here,” said the newspaper’s chief of football.

The 22-year-old Lang chose to leave for Club Brugge. “Everyone thought: it will drown, we will never hear about it again. He is the great sensation of the Jupiler Pro League, last year as well. Mbappé, Messi and Neymar were on the field on Tuesday. Man of the match? Noah Long.”
