Ajax does not have to miss the three players who were left behind at the training camp in Austria due to a corona infection. According to the Telegraph On Tuesday evening, the team from Amsterdam can have at least two and perhaps all three players who tested positive before in the practice match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

On Tuesday evening, Ajax will conclude its preparations with a benefit match against Shakhtar in the Johan Cruijff Arena. The three players who tested positive at the Ajax training camp in Austria can all be there again. At least two of the three will probably make an appearance in the team of trainer Alfred Schreuder. The club has not announced which players had to deal with a corona infection, but according to rumors it was Jurriën Timber, Sean Klaiber and Devyne Rensch. They were not seen on training images in recent days.

Due to the positive test of the three, the practice match against Eintracht Frankfurt, which was scheduled for Saturday afternoon, could not take place. In addition, all Ajax players, except for the three infected players, immediately traveled back to Amsterdam. The meeting with Shakhtar is therefore very welcome for the reigning national champion, since the Amsterdam club can still conclude the preparation with a friendly match against a respectable opponent.

Earlier this preparation was already practiced against SV Meppen, Paderborn, Lokomotiva Zagreb, KAS Eupen and Red Bull Salzburg. That resulted in Ajax three wins, a draw and a defeat. After the match against the Ukrainians, Ajax will prepare for the match for the Johan Cruijff Scale, which is scheduled for Saturday 30 July. A week later, the competition for the team from Amsterdam starts with an away match at Fortuna Sittard.
