Ajax asks one and a half million euros for the services of trainer Alfred Schreuder. That knows BILD to report. VfB Stuttgart is interested in the coach, who should save the club from relegation, and has already been told the asking price. Schreuder is on a list together with Jess Thorup, but the Dane has the advantage that he is now clubless and therefore easier to bring in for Stuttgart.

Thorup was recently fired from FC Copenhagen and can therefore be picked up for free, while Stuttgart would have to pay one and a half million euros to loosen Schreuder at Ajax. BILD thinks he knows that because of the difference in costs, Stuttgart first goes for the Danish coach and possibly returns to Schreuder later. The trainer from Barneveld is in good shape in Germany, partly due to his collaboration with Julian Nagelsmann and a short but successful period at TSG Hoffenheim.

Nagelsmann has already stated that he does not expect Schreuder to go to the Bundesliga. “Alfred has only just become a trainer at Ajax, so I can’t imagine that Ajax is already letting him go. That club is also not known to me as an easy partner in the negotiations. We are also talking about someone who was an excellent assistant coach for me, with a lot of knowledge and a great empathy. He is a winner and a great person.”

In his first months as Ajax coach, Schreuder has not yet become popular with all the fans of the club. Although the team from Amsterdam is the leader in the Eredivisie, there were already white handkerchiefs on display in the Johan Cruijff ArenA this season. The shocking 1-6 defeat against Napoli in the Champions League in particular hit the fans hard and wintering in the billion-dollar ball has already become an almost impossible task. This Saturday, Schreuder will visit RKC Waalwijk with Ajax.
