ADO Den Haag drew 0-0 against De Graafschap in the Kitchen Champion Division on Sunday. The team of coach Ruud Brood made the most claim to a victory, but just like the opponent did not score. A major blemish on the match was the failure of Eljero Elia. The attacker had to leave the field halfway through the first half on a stretcher with an apparently serious injury.
In the initial phase, ADO was the most threatening, without really creating big chances. After more than twenty minutes of play, De Graafschap handed out the first pinprick. After a pass from Giovanni Korte, Jeffry Fortes was able to shoot from the edge of the box, but his shot went a meter wide. Despite the fact that ADO didn’t give much away, it did get a big downer halfway through the first half, when Elia got into a duel with Jasper van Heertum.

The attacker suffered an apparently serious injury and was even forced to leave the field by fire card. With his replacement Ricardo Kishna in the box, ADO almost took the lead just before half-time, after Hidde Jurjus managed to get his hand behind a bet by Samy Bourard. After the break, it was mainly the team of trainer Brood that struck the clock. Kishna had the perfect opportunity to give ADO the lead, but his header from about five meters went just over the goal. In stoppage time, De Graafschap still seemed to take the three points to Doetinchem, when a bet by Joey Konings was removed from the line by Verheydt.
