AC Milan considers Abdou Diallo the ideal replacement for the injured Simon Kjaer, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italy and Santi Aouna from Foot Mercato. The Milanese have inquired with Paris Saint-Germain and will shortly be making an opening offer for the 25-year-old centre-back.

Kjaer has been absent from Milan for a long time due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which wants to attract a replacement for the Dane in January anyway. Diallo is the first option, but the cost could be a stumbling block. According to Foot Mercato PSG asks 25 million euros for the mandekker, who does not get to play too much in the French capital. Milan does not want to meet the asking price and is expected to make a lower offer.

PSG paid 32 million euros themselves two and a half years ago for Diallo, who came over from Borussia Dortmund. The seven-time Senegalese international has since played 72 times for the French superpower, a large part of which also as a left back. If Diallo proves unfeasible, Milan will switch to Issa Diop. The 24-year-old center defender does not play everything at West Ham United, but has invariably been in the base for the past month.

Milan may face competition in January from Newcastle United, who are also interested in both Diallo and Diop. Both clubs are also linked to Sven Botman in their search for a center defender. In the case of Milan, the interest in the Lille OSC mandekker is not concrete at the moment, Fabrizio Romano reports.
