AC Milan took the lead on Saturday evening in the battle for the Italian title. Stefano Pioli’s team defeated Hellas Verona 3-2 after an insane second half, after the visitors still had a 0-2 lead at half-time. The Milanese come to 22 points after 8 games and thus lead the Serie A. Pursuer Napoli, which is still in action on Sunday, is on 21 points. Zlatan Ibrahimovic came in fifteen minutes before the end and made his comeback after a month of injury.
Early in the game, the ball was behind Milan goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu for the first time. In the seventh minute, Ismaël Bennacer and Fikayo Tomori got in each other’s way and Miguel Veloso’s header ended up in the course of Gianluca Caprari. Hellas completely lost track and even ran into the ultimate horror scenario. Castillejo brought in the ball and Koray Günter hit the ball completely wrong, forcing goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò to fish for the third time. With Ibrahimovic in the ranks, AC Milan tried to further expand the score in the final phase, but nothing changed. The Milanese win their fourth home game in a row, which they have not been able to do since the successful 2004/05 season.
