The arrival of Anthony Elanga to PSV seems unlikely, it writes Eindhovens Dagblad. The people of Eindhoven were in direct contact with Erik ten Hag and Manchester United last week, but that was to no avail. A transfer of alternative Kamaldeen Sulemana also seems to be a difficult story. Southampton has made a gigantic offer for the Ghanaian and PSV has to go beyond its own book to surpass that.

PSV is still looking for reinforcements after the departure of Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke from the Philips Stadium. On Friday it was announced that Elanga is high on the list. The Swedish wing attacker only rarely gets to play at Manchester United, which PSV hopes to benefit from. The current number three in the Netherlands is aiming for a rental deal, but now seems to be disappointed.

Direct talks with Ten Hag yielded nothing, so PSV will have to look further. The dreamed-up alternative is also a tricky issue. Sulemana, attacker of Stade Rennes, is also coveted by Southampton, which wants to deposit more than twenty million euros. If PSV wants to match that offer, it would have to go directly against the current financial policy. A lease with an option to buy is more consistent with that policy, but it is not a foregone conclusion that Rennes agrees to such a construction.

The arrival of Adnan Januzaj seems to be the most promising. The Belgian barely gets to play at Seville, can look forward to another club and has already expressed his preference for a move to Eindhoven. However, Januzaj’s arrival is not a top priority there. Things could change if Sevilla sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham Hotspur. He is also coveted by PSV, but the Spaniards seem to have the better papers. Januzaj would disappear even further in the pecking order at Sevilla with a transfer and therefore be easier to pick up for PSV.
