Ronald Koeman left early on Friday afternoon from the press conference in the run-up to Saturday afternoon’s duel with Sevilla. The trainer was hit by a nosebleed and could not get it resolved, after which the Dutchman left the press moment earlier than planned. It was the second time in a short time that Koeman had to deal with a nosebleed. At the end of January, the same happened to him in the run-up to the Athletic Club game (2-1 win).

As usual, Koeman also looked ahead to the next game in Barcelona on Friday afternoon. During a question from a female journalist, however, blood flowed from his nose to such an extent that the press conference had to be stopped prematurely. Barcelona has now announced that the Dutchman is doing well. Koeman had surgery on his heart in May and has been prescribed blood thinners ever since. This is said to be the cause of the nosebleed.

Just before the interruption, Koeman was confronted with the poor results of the past weeks. In the Champions League, Barcelona had to swallow a 1-4 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain and against Cádiz, Koeman’s side did not get further than a 1-1 draw. On Wednesday, Elche was won 3-0. “When you are the Barcelona coach, there is always a lot of pressure,” says Koeman. “And if you don’t win, the trainer is always the target. I understand that and I accept that. But I remain optimistic and I think we will win against Sevilla. ”

Barcelona is currently third in LaLiga, five points behind leader Atlético Madrid (55 at 50). The team of trainer Diego Simeone did play a game less. Koeman hopes that Lionel Messi will no longer be looked at alone. “He is on eighteen goals, the other attackers have added eighteen together. We should not always look only at the best player, or the most experienced player. Responsibility must be borne by the entire team. ”
