Getafe could also make money from Mason Greenwood in the future. The Spanish club had an unusual clause inserted in the striker's contract last summer when he was taken over on loan from Manchester United.

At the initiative of Getafe, the club managed to include a twenty percent resale percentage in the attacker's contract, according to The Athletic. Something that happens more often with permanent transfers, but not with rental agreements.

The clause means that Getafe will pocket twenty percent of all potential future revenues from United on Greenwood. The transfer to Olympique Marseille already earned the club a tidy sum.

Greenwood recently made the move from Manchester United for a fixed sum of 26 million euros, who can earn another 5 million in bonuses. Getafe earned 5.2 million euros on that transfer.

Greenwood blossomed at Getafe last season, with 8 goals and 6 assists in LaLiga, the 22-year-old forward made a significant contribution to the club's 12th-place finish.

The Englishman returned to Manchester after his loan spell in Spain, where he had no future despite a contract until mid-2025. This had everything to do with the alleged assault and rape of his girlfriend Harriet Robson.

Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Napoli also considered taking Greenwood from Manchester United, who however did business with Marseille. the Mancunians included a resale percentage in the contract.
