Leeds United achieved a crucial victory in the Championship on Monday. In the home game, the team was too strong for Hull City 3-1, partly due to a goal in the 88th minute by Crysencio Summerville. Thanks to the three-point goal, Leeds retain second position, which entitles them to direct promotion at the end of the season. With eight games to go, Ipswich Town (87 points) are at the top, while Leeds (86) and Leicester City (85) follow close behind.

Leeds United – Hull City 3-1

In the ninth minute of play, Samuel Byram opened the score on behalf of the home team, but after more than half an hour of play, Fabio Carvalho evened the score: 1-1. For a long time it seemed like it would remain a draw, until Summerville was knocked out in the enemy sixteen in the 86th minute of play.

Substitute Joel Piroe thought he would take the penalty that followed, but Summerville stood behind the ball after a discussion. The left winger scored the 2-1. Deep into injury time, Daniel James also made it 3-1 on a pass from Piroe.
