PSV has announced the selection for the first game with AS Monaco in the third preliminary round of the Champions League. The 22-man selection of trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij has few surprises. As is known, the 46-year-old coach is unable to use Noni Madueke, among others, due to injuries.

Van Nistelrooij has few tastes to choose from, especially in attacking terms. Yorbe Vertessen was operated on at the end of July for appendicitis and therefore misses the diptych with AS Monaco. The people of Eindhoven also have to do without Madueke until the end of the first half of the season due to a serious ankle injury. The most recent acquisitions Sávio and Jarrad Branthwaite are also not part of the PSV selection.

Johan Bakayoko, Luuk de Jong and Cody Gakpo formed the vanguard of the Eindhoven team in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Scale. Ismael Saibari, Richard Ledezma and Xavi Simons are naturally midfielders, but for Van Nistelrooij it seems possible to have options to act as a wing attacker.
