After months of speculation, Noa Lang now seems to actually make the step to the European top. The 22-year-old attacker developed rapidly in his two years at Club Brugge and has been given the green light for a transfer from his employer. Lang is now in the very strong interest of the national champion of the Serie A, AC Milan. Together with FootballTransfers, Voetbalzone investigated to what extent the always much-discussed talent is ready for the transition to his dream destination.

Noa Lang would not be Noa Lang if a video did not surface this week shortly after winning the national title with Club Brugge in which he dealt with his ‘haters’. The behavior of the three-time the Dutch international is regularly criticized and his new statements could also count on the necessary reactions. But what Lang has shown on the field in his two seasons at Club Brugge, no one can ignore that.

Small in size, but still the largest
Two years ago, Lang exchanged Ajax for Club Brugge, because of his conversation about the prospect of playing time in Amsterdam. Blue-Black initially rented the native from Capellen for a year, with a mandatory option to purchase six million euros. It turned out to be a good deal not only sportingly, but also financially. According to Football Transfers Lang is now worth no less than twenty million euros, making him the most valuable player in the entire Belgian competition. Add to that a contract that runs until the summer of 2025, and a considerable amount rolls out that Milan will have to put on the table.

get there i Rossoneric of course something in return. With Lang, they bring in a player who became national champion in Belgium in the past two seasons, became an A-international of the Dutch national team and in total accounted for 24 goals and 19 assists in the Club Brugge uniform. The return of the 1 meter 73 large attacker faltered somewhat in the last six months, but at his peak last winter Lang was even worth thirty million euros. Football Transfers only one player in the Jupiler Pro League has more qualities: teammate Faitout Maouassa.

Noa Lang watches how the only one against whom he has to lose in the ranking of the best players, Faitout Maouassa, takes aim at KV Kortrijk’s goal.

The dream destination; AC Milan
And so Lang now seems to be ready for the next step. In recent months he has been linked to several clubs from both the Premier League and Serie A, but his preference seems to be the latter. According to The newspapaer both Milan and Lang certainly see a collaboration. He would be a welcome boost to rejuvenation in the fashion capital, where it seems necessary to continue selecting with the forty-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the 35-year-old Olivier Giroud.

But the competition that remains is not tender. While Lang was still the most valuable player of the entire competition in Belgium, the technician in only the vanguard of Milan itself with Rafael Leão (39 million euros) and Alexis Saelemakers (28 million) already finds two players who Football Transfers be estimated to be higher. However, Ante Rebic (18 million), Samu Castillejo (7 million) and Junior Messias (2 million) lose to Lang. So a challenge, although the wing flash will not shy away from it.

Is the transfer-free arrival of Divock Origi to AC Milan going to screw up his dream transfer?

New competition

From the data of Football Transfers roll several players similar to Lang. One of them is Divock Origi, who will leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of June. It is therefore not surprising that Milan also has the Belgian in mind in addition to Lang. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano and several other leading media outlets (such as The Athletic and The Guardian) the Italian superpower is almost finished with Origi. Problems for Lang?

With Origi, Milan would be one of the best pressing forwards (= attacker who puts a lot of pressure on the opponent’s possession) into the world. According to Football Transfers the 32-time international only has to tolerate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Barcelona). Lang itself, on the other hand, is defined as a mobile striker, or a mobile attacker. In that ranking, the Dutchman is in 35th place, with Kylian Mbappé as the leader.

A joyful meeting between Alfred Schreuder and Lang during the national championship against Antwerp (1-3 win).

Nice words from the trainer
To take the next step, a transfer to one of Europe’s top leagues could do Lang well. Insofar as his statistics do not yet show that he is ready, it was clear from the words of his (now ex-) trainer. Alfred Schreuder, departing for Ajax, told the Belgian program Extra Time that he initially clashed enormously with his ‘difficult’ pupil, but eventually closed him in his heart.

Schreuder also sees that Lang has become a much better player in his two seasons at Club Brugge than he was before at Ajax, when the two also worked together. “His work ethic is great now. He is a great player who can still make many strides. I think there will be a wonderful stage for Noa abroad.”
