The draw for the quarter-finals of the Conference League was made on Friday. PSV will take on Leicester City, while Feyenoord is linked to Slavia Prague. In a possible semi-final, the team from Eindhoven will play against the winner of the diptych Bodö/Glimt – AS Roma, while the team from Rotterdam will face Olympique Marseille or PAOK in a possible semi-final. A final between PSV and Feyenoord is therefore possible.

Feyenoord already played twice in the group stage against Slavia Prague, in which the Rotterdam team achieved four points (2-1 win in De Kuip and 2-2 in the Czech Republic). The Rotterdam team are not happy to meet Slavia again, John de Wolf said on Thursday after the win against Partizan (3-1). “That is the only team that has already played against and we thought that was a very annoying team. But we’ll see tomorrow,” said the assistant coach, who took the honors because Arne Slot was absent due to corona.

It will be the first time in history that PSV will play against Leicester City, which settled with Stade Rennes in a diptych (2-0 win and 2-1 loss). Leicester are twelfth in the Premier League. PSV reached the quarter-finals itself on Thursday evening at the expense of FC Copenhagen. The people of Eindhoven triumphed with no less than 4-0 in the Danish capital. Last week the meeting ended in a crazy 4-4.

AZ was eliminated in the eighth final by Bodö/Glimt, while Vitesse went down against AS Roma. The Norwegian champion and the Italians now meet in the quarterfinals. That is salient, because Bodö and Roma already played against each other in the group stage: then the Norwegians provided a resounding surprise by winning 6-1 at home and playing 2-2 in Rome.

In the draw for the Conference League quarter-finals, no one had a protected status and clubs from the same country could meet, but that was not yet possible last round. The quarter-final matches of the Conference League will be played on April 7 and 14. The semifinals will follow on April 28 and May 5. The final in Albanian Tirana is scheduled for Wednesday 25 May.
