Jack Wilshere couldn’t resist responding to a discussion between two Football Manager users who laugh at his injury history. A Twitter user posted that he took a gamble in the popular simulation game by signing Wilshere, but that the 30-year-old midfielder was already injured after four games. Wilshere’s career is characterized by injuries, but the 34-time England international could nevertheless laugh at the jokes about his injury sensitivity.

Wilshere and injuries go hand in hand throughout his career. The midfielder ultimately never managed to live up to the potential he showed at Arsenal. Wilshere has never hidden his frustrations about his injury sensitivity, but now shows that he can also laugh at himself when football fans make fun of him.

Wilshere shared a discussion between two Twitterers on his own Twitter account, with a Football Manager user expressing regrets about attracting the midfielder in the popular simulation game. “Took a gamble with Jack Wilshere in Football Manager 2022,” the tweet read. “Four games later, he’s been out of action for three months.” To which someone else replied with a laugh: “Are you surprised?”

The Football Manager user also goes on to reveal that he is not happy with Wilshere’s attitude. “Then he complained about me that I didn’t sign enough midfielders. Wilshere wanted to force a transfer, not realizing he wouldn’t get through the medical exam anywhere he wants to go. I have included an injury escape clause in Wilshere’s contract, but I’d rather he waive it in the Under 23.”

Wilshere jokingly questioned the Football Manager player’s management skills. “Mismanagement if you ask me. I can’t lie, this made me laugh.” Wilshere played ten seasons for Arsenal before moving to West Ham United in 2018. After six months at Bournemouth, the midfielder was transfer-free last summer. The playmaker returned to the Emirates Stadium to maintain his fitness as he searched for a new club. Wilshere surprisingly signed a contract with the Danish Aarhus last month.
