Michaël Cuisance will trade Bayern Munich for Venezia, Fabrizio Romano knows. The 22-year-old midfielder has never fully played in Bavaria since his arrival from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2019, and is leaving for four million euros excluding variables, according to the journalist. Cuisance cost of the Rekordmeisterin 2019 still eight million euros: a loss that the club takes.

Cuisance caused a furore in Mönchengladbach between 2017 and 2019, where he was even voted player of the year in his first season. Bayern took over the Frenchman at the start of the 2019/20 season. Cuisance made his debut in August 2019 against FSV Mainz 05 (6-1) and made a total of fifteen games that season. Bayern already knew enough and loaned him to Olympique Marseille the following year with an option to buy. There the creative, who was compared to Mesut Özil by the Bundesliga in February 2020, slipped after a good start. Marseille did not take the option, so Cuisance returned to Bavaria this summer.

The French youth international was determined to fight for his chance, to no avail. Cuisance has so far only received 56 minutes of playing time from coach Julian Nagelsmann this year. The departure to Venezia (which won the battle against the also interested CSKA Moscow) offers a solution for the midfielder in that respect. Cuisance, who made a total of thirteen games for Bayern Munich, will become a teammate of Ridgeciano Haps in Italy. The former left back of Feyenoord and AZ, among others, is in sixteenth place in the Serie A with his club.
