Jérémie Boga still gets his desired transfer to Atalanta, reports Sky Italy. The number four in Serie A has reached an agreement with Sassuolo about the winter arrival of the 24-year-old left winger, who proved unachievable last summer. Atalanta pays at least 22 million euros, an amount that can increase by 2 million euros.

Boga will arrive in Bergamo on Sunday and will then undergo a medical check-up before signing his contract. With the arrival of the French-Ivorian attacker, a long-cherished wish of Gian Piero Gasperini has come true. The Atalanta trainer already insisted on the arrival of the wing striker last summer, but la Dea did not come to an agreement with Sassuolo.

Atalanta cannot immediately use Boga, because the winger will leave for the Africa Cup with Ivory Coast at the beginning of January. Should Boga reach the final with his country, he will only be available for Atalanta from February 7. The club has great confidence in the wing striker, who will be the most expensive purchase in history. That record is now in the name of Luis Muriel, for whom 21.2 million euros was paid to Sevilla in 2019.

Boga was born in Marseille and was picked up by Chelsea at the age of twelve. The right-footed left striker was the Blues later loaned to Stade Rennes, Granada and Birmingham City and would eventually play only one official game in Chelsea’s first. In 2018, Sassuolo paid ten million euros to the Londoners for Boga, which found its niche in Italy. In total he played 102 official duels for i Neroverdi, in which he produced 18 goals and 10 assists.
